If you want to learn to draw, paint, and create, Urban Arts Studio is the place to go. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and you will not find a more welcoming and peaceful environment to create. Please go check them out!

Foundation Studio Certificate
Awarded after successful completion of our Six-Month Foundation Program.
This level focuses on core technique, observation skills, and creative fundamentals.
Advanced Studio Certificate
Awarded after completion of our Twelve-Month Advanced Program.
This level reflects sustained commitment, refined technique, and independent artistic development.
Our certificates recognize dedication and meaningful artistic progress within our studio environment.

A 5-Day Outdoor Painting Intensive in Edmonton
Paint the Spirit of Alberta.
Step outside the studio and develop your landscape painting skills through immersive, hands-on instruction in the beautiful outdoors. Explore composition, colour, light, atmosphere, and observation while painting directly from nature.

Abstract Painting at Urban Art Studio 101
At Urban Art Studio 101, our Abstract Painting class offers a creative space for students of all levels to explore expressive, non-representational art. Instead of focusing on realism or perfection, students are encouraged to experiment freely and develop their own artistic voice.
In this class, students learn the foundations of abstract art, including composition, colour theory, texture, and mixed media techniques. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, artists explore layering, mark-making, and the emotional impact of colour while building confidence in their creative process.
This class focuses on process over perfection, creating a supportive and inspiring environment where creativity can grow naturally.
The Canadian Portraiture Legacy 2027
Celebrating Excellence. Preserving Legacy.
The Canadian Portraiture Legacy 2027 returns as a national celebration of portrait painting, bringing together emerging and established artists from across Canada.
More than a competition, the Legacy is an opportunity to celebrate the human story through art, connect with fellow artists, and create work that contributes to Canada’s artistic heritage.

The Canadian Landscape Legacy 2027
Painting the Spirit of the Land. Creating a Legacy for Generations.
Following the success of its inaugural 2026 edition, the Canadian Landscape Legacy 2027 returns to celebrate Canada’s landscapes and the artists who bring them to life.
Artists from across Canada are invited to paint directly from nature, capturing the spirit, beauty, and character of the Canadian landscape while becoming part of a growing national artistic tradition.
